Durand Wayland's new SmartSpray technology uses waterproof ultrasonic sensors linked to an on-board computer and tractor-mounted controller to seek and target trees that need spraying...All automatically. So when there isn't a tree present, the nozzles won't be spraying the ground or the space between trees. No spray is wasted up into the air, either. The result? Hundreds of gallons of chemicals saved, because SmartSpray actually shapes the tree with spray. SmartSpray does a lot more than just detect trees. It reads tree shape and tree size and activates only those nozzles needed for that particular tree, whether the target is citrus, apples, peaches, almonds, walnuts, plums, pears, pecans, or cherries. SmartSpray also cuts down on troublesome corrosion of your equipment by reducing spray drift. This is a lot safer for the environment and your sprayer operators.
